The Shachihata Washi Tape Base Marker - Jikakeru - is designed to make washi tape writiable with water-based ink! Simply apply it, allow it to dry for about 30 seconds, and then you can write with your favorite water-based pens, fountain pens, or even glass pens without worrying about the ink being repelled. If you find that the washi tape is still difficult to write on, you can apply a second coat after the first one has thoroughly dried. We found it easiest to apply the Jikakeru in straight horizontal lines rather than in a vertical or circular fashion.
The thick flexible brush style pen allows for easy application on masking tapes of various widths while still being portable. The colorless and transparent marker ink maintains the aesthetic of your washi tape's design without altering its appearance.
Jikakeru is specifically designed to work with mt masking tape, but can also be used with other brands.
